Communities Against The Opioid Epidemic Symposium


On Tuesday, October 30th, 2018, the Communities Against the Opioid Epidemic Symposium was hosted at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in our state’s capital: Harrisburg.

The event, hosted in partnership with the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs, addressed growing concerns surrounding opioid misuse among ethnic, minority, and rural communities. The Symposium brought 100 key executives, professionals, and officials together who discussed solutions to this growing epidemic. Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine joined the Defining Solutions panel and also shared the Governor’s efforts towards combating the epidemic. 

Target Audience

Key executives, professionals, and state officials. Students from Dauphin County Technical School were also in attendance.

What We Did

The event had a morning and afternoon panel, two educational breakout sessions, and a lunchtime presentation.
